African film director Gavin Hood confided recently in one of his interviews that he was considering writing a film script inspired by Barthe Cortes. Although it would be based on BC's life story, it would not be a documentary and facts would be interlaced with fictitious threads. "It would not be another thrilling adventure film. I would like it to make a number of serious, strong political statements (...) Barthe Cortes's life is full of mysteries, and I am aware of challenges which I may encounter while trying to discover his true life story. For this reason, it will definitely not be a documentary. However, Cortes is such a colourful, controversial and ambiguous person that the story inspired by his life will be a perfect script for the film which I have been considering for some time " - Hood said.
